My son has gone to KSR for 2 years in the afterschool program and summer camp. My son loves it there and they do a lot of fun things with the kids in the summer. My son enjoys learning karate and is always excited to receive his next belt!
I went through every place in Ormond in search for what "felt right". I was looking for structure, professionalism, the "REAL DEAL" Martial Arts and kid friendly. This is it! It is very affordable, the instructor demonstrated patience as well as getting on my child's level. Within one hour he boosted my daughters self esteem and gave her confidence that she didn't come in with.
I am a very protective parent and research everyone. This is the first place I've gone where he wants you to do your research so that you know exactly what your getting. I am impressed!
For anyone out there looking for that right feel, make sure you DO YOUR HOMEWORK!! There are a lot of " reputable" places that aren't so legit once you get ahold of reviews. I am willing to make a drive to get my $$$ worth and ensure my daughters well being and happiness!!

the place where you want to go if you want to know how to defend yourself and learn proper technique. It is not a belt mill, it is real instructions. The Shihan is very helpful and friendly. I have trained with him when he was A Sensei, now I am going with my son to him. I never normally do reviews, but I think he is worth talking about.

My 8-year-old has been a part of KSR for about a year with the after-school program as well as the summer camp. I went to his second (my first I was able to attend) belt test a couple months ago, and I could not believe how awesome and disciplined the kids were! I was so impressed by it that I spoke with Shihan afterwards and asked when I could start taking lessons. My son loves and respects Shihan, and Shihan is so awesome at teaching the kids manners & respect while also being kind and not too harsh. KSR Kids for life!!

Ive always wanted my children to experience the discipline and commitment of martial arts. I've talked with 5 instructors over the years and committed to 1 other, just to be disappointed in his philosophy and instruction. You are a great teacher and remind me of my sifu Gus Rubio from Miami, Kung fu where I studied for 7 years. Martial arts is a intimate gift, given to a select instructor. You are a blessing in my kids lives. I believe in your commitment to self realization. Your love for the arts and my desire for my kids to know how to and when to punch someone is why I believe in you. You help them understand that humble confidence is the key to dealing with bullies. Each kid IS somebody, unique and important. Your person touch is refreshing.
My son has been a student at KSR for about 8 months. Recently there was an incident at school where my son was being bullying by another child. At first my son was shocked and frightened, but because of the training at KSR his instincts and training kicked in and he was able to block the kicks and obtain assistance from a teacher. My son handled the situation perfectly and I was very proud of him. Thank you Shihan Tony! Best decision I ever made!
